We smoked it today. Phil's World was so much fun yesterday, we went back for more. I would guess the area has nearly 30 miles of trails, so there was still plenty of exploring to do.
Deciding it best to get there before the sun got too hot, we woke up early and were on the trail a little after 8:00. Three hours later, we were nearly out of water, a bit tired, but super content from another day of Colorado fun.

One of the largest cedar tree bases I've ever seen. |
|
There were numerous ledges like this one. Sometimes it was hard to keep our eyes on the trail, but it was a must! |

Aaron cruises through the rock and open field. |

More evidence of fire. |
We made it back to Durango in time for some good Mexican food, then rented some tubes and floated the Animas river for a couple of hours. Aaaaahhhhhh!

Guess the dog thinks he owns the place, or the sidewalk at least. |
Blanco goes with us pretty much everywhere we go. He just chills with plenty of water and waits for us to come and get him and take him to the next adventure.
Tomorrow the plan is to get back into the mountains one last time on our bikes, then load up the Rav and get as far down the road back to Texas as possible. We'll have to flip a coin to see who has to drive:)

I didn't get a close up shot, but I saw a decent sized buck (in velvet) meandering the neighborhood. |
|
Here the buck is visiting a house, probably about to ruin a gardener's day. |
