Family

I already miss the trails in Colorado.  And the mountains.  And the weather.  But, yesterday and today beat the best day in the mountains by far.  That's because I'm back with my family, back by the side of my best friend.  We are incredibly blessed.  I had a weird thought en route back home.  We were driving through what is perhaps the ugliest and most unimpressive segment of the Texas to Colorado route.  Flat, dry, dusty.  A few oil rigs or crop rows to look at is about all.  But I thought to myself, if someone were to drop a double wide trailer in the middle of this depressing landscape, and you filled that trailer with family, I would be happier there than in the most picturesque spot on earth, but without someone to share it with.  Nothing on earth compares to being with the ones you love.
